Jaw Crusher Working Principle

Jaw crushers are mainly designed for medium-hard to very hard materials and are used in quarries for primary crushing of blasted rock pile, which – depending on the blasting method – can achieve edge lengths of more than 2,000 mm. For these duties two different jaw crusher types are available from Zenith: single-toggle and double-toggle jaw crushers. The distinguishing feature of these two crushers is the kinematics of the swing jaw which the specific advantage of the respective crusher type also results from.

Jaw Crusher Working Principle:

The crushing form of this series Zenith jaw crusher is driven-squeezing style. Its working principle is: through the motor's wheels, the eccentric shaft is driven by the belt and the belt wheel to make the jawstock move by a regulated track. The angle between the toggle plate and jawstock will become large as the up of the jawstock. This will push the moveable jaw plate towards the fixed jaw plate, which can realize the multi-crushing of the materials. The angle between the toggle plate and jawstock will become small as the down of the jawstock. The moveable jaw plate will leave the jaw plate at the pressure of the tension rod and spring , meanwhile ,the final products will be discharged from the discharge opening. Along with the continuous rotating , the crusher will complete the periodic crushing and discharging movement ,which can realize the batch process.

Design Characteristics:

  • Crushing jaws made of high-grade manganese steel, cheek plates made of high-strength special steel;
  • The crushing jaws can freely expand avoiding the transmission of high stresses to other components;
  • Easy adjustment of the crushing gap through hand-operated hydraulic equipment and shim plates or automatic adjustment of the crushing gap;
  • The jaw crushers can be used as stationary crushers or be integrated into mobile crushing plants;
  • Central lubrication system ensures a reliable grease supply.
